The aim of the study was to enumerate the initiatives, measures, development and achievement of implementing the entrepreneurship education strategies in the Nordic countries as most Nordic countries are frontrunners in this area. The model shows how investments in entrepreneurship education is an activity shared among several stakeholders and implemented through different partners. Several identified hindrances are listed in the report which might support politicians and decision makers.

Implementation Method

Entrepreneurship education and training are among the key drivers in the process of building a stronger culture of entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial mind-sets. With the help of entrepreneurship education, schools and other educational institutions can increase the awareness of entrepreneurship as a career choice, promote young people’s entrepreneurial spirit, and support the development of their entrepreneurial skills.

A study from Nordic Innovation about implementation of Entrepreneurship Education in the Nordic countries

A report from Nordic innovation analysing the implementation of entrepreneurship education strategies in the Nordic countries was published to reveal obstacles and common characteristics and to bring up good practices for reference and discussion.

The ‘Nordic model” in entrepreneurship education has the following main characteristics:

• Cross ministerial cooperation
• Autonomy of implementing entrepreneurship education by educational institutions as long as they comply with National Qualification Framework or steering documents
• Key role of Junior Achievement – Young Enterprise organizations as “brokers” between partners and content delivery.
• Intensive business engagement
• Intensive engagement from organisations as employers’ organisations, unions and other national entities.
• Entrepreneurship education embedded at all levels and types of education
• Teachers’ role to function as facilitators

Pain Relievers / Solutions
